We will respond by the end of the following business day.
Before you contact us you might like to consider the following questions are a way of confirming what you want out of your site:
1. What do you want from your website?
This may seem like a simple question, but your response shapes your entire site. Does your company need a one page internet advertisement or do you want to be able to manage your business from any internet connection any time anywhere in the world? Does it need a Shop, search functions, upload facilities for customers etc. Try to encapsulate your goal in one sentence. For example, "I want my website to sell my products to the entire world", or, "I want my website to allow my customers access to hidden pages designed for them". A single sentence helps establish your website's focus.
2. Do you have a domain name?
Choosing the right domain name is one of the hardest things to do because many of the best domain names are taken. We advise that your address should be simple and easy to remember and relate to your business, for example: yourname@yourbusiness.com This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it etc.
3. Your wish list
Now that you know your goal, its time to list your expectations. Put together a description of what you expect for yourself, your customers and your employees on your website. This document will be the basis for how we design you new site. You may find it helpful to review competitor website's and/or similar industry sites to get an idea of how other people are getting their messages across.
Some things to include in your wish list:
- colours, logos and photos -- list any important colours and gather together digital files, if available, of logos and photographs.
- likes and dislikes -- use your research into other website's to assemble a list of things you like. Be as specific as possible (eg, I really like the drop down menus at www.blahblah.com)
- user interaction is there a certain type of information that has to be relayed to the user? Is there information you need to collect from the user?
- eCommerce -- do you want to sell something on your site. If so, do you want someone to be able to make a payment over the internet?
- brochure or destination -- would you prefer your website act as a brochure site that describes your business and changes very little or would you like it to be a dynamic environment that changes hourly, daily, weekly, etc?
- outlines and flowcharts -- the most basic layout technique would be to use an outline. Number a series of pages and then write in a description of what you want on that page. Think about headers you would use for each section of your site. Use simple, sketched-out flowcharts to describe the user experience.
