There are different types of sites that suit different requirements, which type is right for you?.

Simple Brochure

These sites typically have about 3-4 pages and display simple text and images that communicate the nature of the business the customer provides, some details about how to contact them and usually some images that give a visual depiction of the services and products. Usually, the information of the pages does not change much. These sites can be developed within a standard fee , although new images such as a logo need further definition.

The package includes hosting of the site for one year, domain name, and 5 e-mail addresses on your domain.

Community site

The focus of these sites to provide a place where a community can interact and exchange information. These sites are usually highly dynamic and require means for the community to update their own information as often as possible. The sites make use of bogs, wiki, photo galleries, file uploads and downloads, etc. For business sites this may focus on Customer relations management, such as managing attendances and subscriptions to attend events. The content management system has many modules and functions that support these requirements. However, they are more complex sites to construct and maintain than brochure sites. Usually an initial discussion and defining the user requirements will be needed before a quote can be provided for the development, and hosting of these sites.

E-commerce

E-commerce sites typically list products and provide a lot of detail about these products. These product lists are driven off databases which may have links into the existing computer systems of the organisation. Customers can search for the products they want and then order or purchase the items on-line. These sites are complex to deliver and would require an in depth analysis of customer requirements before a quote could be given for the development and hosting. The content management system has many built in functions that support this type of web site.

The sites are constructed using a Content Management System and have the capability to quickly change the layout and colour scheme. My preference is for simple cleanly styled web sites which load quickly and provide functions that are easy to recognise and use. however, much more complex layouts and colour schemes can be achieved.

The first site is for a team of health care professionals and is a simple site that records who they are and the services they provide as well as directions on how to contact them. Some digital resources such as documents and presentations are also provided on the site. Theme used is a standard theme with custom colours and layout customisations.
